For many years, Donnerschlag was the top sire of Gestut St. Ludwig's stud of Germany, where he left a distinctive mark on an era of breeding. His sire, Donnerhall, was a stallion of legendary proportion. Pirola, his dam, was a full sister to the famous Pik Bube I. Donnerschlag has produced numerous approved sons, including Dream of Heidelberg, Donnerwind, Donnerluck, Donnerfurst, Diamond Dancer and Donnergold. Donnerschlag was imported in 2000 and strands at Fairwind Farm in Santa Rosa, California. Neostan has a solid, powerful frame and a very quiet, unflappable personality both in the ring and on the trails. He is also extremely athletic, with a wide range of motion in his lateral work, a soft back and a wonderful ability to sit while in collection. Neostan is currently standing at stud and training with Jim Koford at Fair Oak Farm in North Carolina. He had a spectacular 2005 show season at Prix St. Georges and Intermediare 1, culminating in his placement as Reserve Champion in Prix St. Georges and Champion in Intermediare 1 at the 2005 Region 1 Championships. Ramiro Z, Alme, Abgar xx and Armstrong, the full brother to the Oldenburg approved stallion Rolando. The dam Terma also produced the approved son of Aram, Faram.
