The Pink Ribbon Ride at the Bucks County Horse Park was on Oct. 4,
Michele Darling and Maire Bermingham $675.00. Approximately 200 riders
attended
compared to 75 the year before.
Maire Bermingham & Michelle Darling
The Pink Ribbon is the symbol for breast cancer awareness. October
is breast cancer awareness month. The horse park holds this fundraiser the
first weekend in October to help kick off the month. Bucks County Horse
Park puts this fundraiser together to help Lehigh Valley Hospital. They
use the money that is raised to help women and their families with whatever
they may need. They are given personal grants to purchase anything from
medicine to groceries. Maire and Michelle raised $675. I believe the total
raised from the whole day was about $18,000. It is not just a horse back
riding trial, there is a trial marked for walkers and joggers. The horse
trail was about 7 miles all through Bucks County. They have a tack auction
towards the end of the day, with the a portion of the proceeds going to the
cause. They also have a raffle that had some nice things for a horse owner,
grooming supplies things like that. There was no time limit so no one could
win, but there was a grand prize for the most picked out horse and rider
there and the team that raised the most money.

debut at the Bucks County Dressage Show
on September 14th. She received a 61% and was 2nd to Respekt.

10th in
Dressage to 6th Overall in the Beginner Novice Amateur Division. The
national championship courses
were challenging but they added no penalties to their Dressage score.

Just this side of heaven
is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all
of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are
warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and
vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong
again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone
by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left
behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly
stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His
eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying
over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally
meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted
again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress
the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of
your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your
heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Sadly, Flying Change lost a great friend in Karrie,
the Golden Retriever. Karrie passed away Wednesday after a short illness.
She was a
lovely and beautiful dog and a farm favorite, especially to her wonderful
friends, Annette and Margarete.
